Beer Making Equipment

by dudesbrewingbeer

So you’re ready to homebrew! Congratulations you’ve made an awesome choice and you will soon gain a fair number of new friends. Where do you get started? Well you need a beer kit. You can buy a pre-made kit like this one from Amazon or piece it together yourself. Here is a list of the equipment you’ll need:

Fermenting bucket (food grade bucket with lid, bottling spigot optional)
5 or 6 gallon glass carboy (Glass is the best don’t mess with plastic!)
Fermentation Thermometer
Drilled stopper for fermenting bucket lid
3 piece airlock
Hydrometer
Large brew kettle (usually have to buy separate from brew kit)
Bottling or kegging equipment (Kegging is easier!)

Build Your Own Kegerator

by dudesbrewingbeer

I had a nice Danby kegerator purchased from Sams for several years. But now that I’m building a new house with a specific bar style draught beer area I thought I needed something a little more manly. Having modified by Danby by adding an extra brew line and tap I know I have the skills and equipment to make it happen. Now its down to choosing a freezer up to the task. Here are a few sites I found with ideas for great kegerators.  Click on the picture to go direct to their websites!
